MakeMatic Does Belfast Design Week

This year MakeMatic were involved with Belfast Design Week.From an Emoji Creation Workshop at Ulster Museum (graphic design and animation), open Design Challenges at the Ormeau Baths (design thinking) to panel discussions at the Sonic Arts Research Centre at Queen's University (learning design), MakeMatic were there, talking about what we do and what we're passionate about within the design space.In the Emoji Creation Workshop 8 - 12 year old's designed new emoji's for Unicode's 2019 list. The most original design from the day 'dragon car' will have their concept further developed and animated by one of MakeMatic's very own Motion Graphic's artists, Claire Bethell.The open design challenge 'The Design Experiment' at the Ormeau Baths, saw teams re-imagine the area around Primark to increase the footfall in the Belfast City Centre. First prize was a whopping £250 of vouchers. The ideas ranged from open green spaces, gaming rooms to rock climbing walls up the existing building spaces.
