Hybrid Learning Is Here To Stay – EdTech News July 2021

For many of us, the summer holidays have already started. It's a time to reflect on the past school year and to look forward to the next. More than ever before, we're not quite sure what the new school year will bring and especially if it will involve more homeschooling too.

Quite a few events are being held over the summer months to speculate over the future of K-12 learning and teaching. My bet is that hybrid learning is here to stay. Technology will become absolutely essential to keep everyone connected and that there will be more focus on student engagement.

I came across this article that said exam performance at the age of 16 is very much determined by school enjoyment at the age of six. School enjoyment and how we could improve it should become a major focus.

Finally, new OECD data has shown that curiosity is the social-emotional skill most linked to early learning. The development of these skills is so important to succeed in society and to cope with change. Therefore, it's no surprise that we at Makematic are about to release a series about the social-emotional skills you need to succeed aimed at 8 to 12-year-olds.
