Makematic has an exclusive partnership with Dorling Kindersley, the global publisher of uniquely informative and engaging books, to produce 500 videos based their extensive back catalogue of print titles. 

We have so far created more than 150 mixed media videos - combining carefully sourced archival stills and footage with creative animation. All of the videos capture the style, the content and the stories of the original DK books.

"Timelines" (LINK)

The Timelines of Everything and Timelines of Everyone are like children’s encyclopaedias. Our videos cover the age of the dinosaurs, ancient Egypt, the industrial revolution, world wars and more. Some of the people covered range from Pocahantas to Isaac Newton, Nelson Mandela, Greta Thunberg and many more.

"100 Series" (PEOPLE, EVENTS, INVENTIONS)

For the ‘100 series’ we have applied a slightly quirkier style in keeping with the books. This series captures turning points in history and our videos with iconic imagery bring these to life. 100 Inventions that Made History, 100 People that Made History, 100 Events that Made History, 100 Scientists that Made History cover major moments from the past. From human exploration to scientific discoveries such as the steam engine and the telephone. These videos are packed with all the key social, political, economical, and technological events that have shaped our modern world. The 100 series is ideal for younger children aged seven and up.

"Climate Change" (LINK)

Based on the DK Eyewitness Climate Change book, we have created ten videos looking at some of the most important issues facing us today. It makes the perfect introduction to children aged eight and up on the history, causes and effects of climate change. Clear explanations, supported by animations and live action footage showing the science behind climate change.
