Catherine is a former series producer with the BBC working across both broadcast and online. She has worked on iconic titles including Blue Peter and Tomorrow’s World and produced shows in collaboration with Discovery and National Geographic.

Mark co-founded one of Europe’s largest digital events for young people and has designed educational outreach programmes on behalf of government and the corporate sector.
Brian has 13 years’ professional international experience in the media industry, with a focus on online educational video. That experience has helped him to develop comprehensive expertise across all aspects of the production process, client engagement, and leadership. Brian has recently relocated to Northern Ireland from South Africa, where he was the Senior Producer at GetSmarter Online Education.
Aine has experience as a Youth Coordinator, developing educational workshops and as a part-time Higher Education Lecturer for young people.
Michael is a producer and director. He’s worked on animation series for Netflix and PBS and is a regular on the film festival circuit with his short film work.
Deirdre has worked in media for 15 years with a background in BBC radio and BBC learning campaigns production. She project managed Derry/Londonderry UK City of Culture’s largest education project ‘Music Promise’ in 2013 before returning to the media sector as a Television Producer of factual documentaries at Alleycats TV.
Kevin Gillen is a sound editor/designer/mixer for film, TV and multimedia. Having worked on everything from animated TV productions to documentaries he is well versed in audio post-production. Now working full-time for Makematic he continues to develop his passion for audio and his unique approaches to sonic manipulation.
Shanice is a freelance journalist, with a degree in History and English. A book hoarder who loves music, a good winged eyeliner and the colour black.
Sean is a mediocre footballer, generic dresser but a fantastic video editor. Having studied his trade in London, he returned home to Derry, where he has joined our team at Makematic. He’s a big fan of the delicious Derry bakery delicacy ‘Sausage Roll Bap’
Conor is a multidisciplinary designer, whose talents range from graphic design to animation. After four intensive years of studying visual communication, Conor now works with us full-time as a motion graphics artist.
Matt has over 7 years experience working in video game design, 2D/3D animation and graphic design. He has now joined our team at Makematic as an animator and brings with him fresh ideas and Simpsons quotes.
Instructional Designer (Freelance)
Peter is an experienced educator, instructional designer, project director, researcher, and professional developer with expertise in educational media and media literacy education. He holds an MA in Education (Learning, Design and Technology) from Stanford. He is currently the Project Lead for the School Retool program at Stanford.
Interested in cinema growing up Eamon persuaded Creative Media Production in college. Since then he has gravitated towards video editing. Prior to joining Makematic Eamon worked on e-learning videos and short films.
Daniel is a motion graphics artist, animator and graphic designer currently working full time with MakeMatic across a range of programming.
Lee is a published author and journalist. He has written features for the Sunday Times, Belfast Telegraph and various industry magazines and is former editor of the arts website CultureNorthernIreland. His factual book, Belfast Taxi, was published in 2013. He likes reading, writing and Radiohead.
Fiona is an experienced Community Learning and Development practitioner, specialising in delivering high impact informal education programmes. Most recently, she worked for Inverclyde Council, developing and delivering a unique and engaging programme of targeted learning as part of the Scottish Attainment Challenge.
Rosie is in her third year of an animation degree at Ulster University. She is currently carrying out her placement year at Makematic, working on motion graphics and animation.
Dr Liz Fogel

Liz is the former Director of Education for The Walt Disney Company and past Chair of the Executive Board for the Partnership for 21st Century Learning. Prior to joining Disney in 2008, Lizabeth taught at the elementary and university levels for over fifteen years. She holds a doctoral degree in educational psychology.

Paul McElvaney is CEO of Learning Pool where he has helped build the business as the largest provider of e-learning to local government in the UK. By adopting an aggressive growth strategy and innovating around technology and e-learning content development, Learning Pool has been able to create an extremely loyal customer base in hard to reach market segments. Learning Pool has grown substantially, being recognised by the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 every year from 2009 to 2013.
Director of Research and Impact at Ulster University
Timothy Brundle is a business executive, technology investor and innovation advisor. He is responsible for the commercial development of Ulster University where he leads the University’s support for business and economic development, directs Ireland’s most successful academic consultancy business and manages a highly active technology transfer team. On behalf of the University, he is the Executive Director of Innovation Ulster Limited, Ulster University’s award-winning technology venturing and investment company.
